Cason Kirkpatrick

Picture
Flyers are happy to announce the commitment of 6'2" 195lbs goaltender Cason Kirkpatrick. Cason is from nearby Joliet,IL and will be joining Lewis on academic scholarship. He commits to Lewis after starting in 36 games recording 17wins during his 2 seasons with the Wisconsin Rampage of the MnJHL. Kirkpatrick was part of a 3 goalie rotation this past season that won their division regular season & playoff titles, but eventually falling in the MnJHL league championship. "Cason brings size, play reading ability, and depth to our  goaltending core. He's fills so much net it makes him hard to beat when he's square to a shooter.  Kirkpatrick was very solid at all the skates he attended during the season, he really stood out at the prospect skate in April. It's been a long process to get Cason to commit here, we are very pleased we got him."

Matt Eberhardt

Picture
Matt is a 5'11" 160lbs forward from Yorkville,IL. Matt is coming off a fine season with the Cyclones Midget Major team collecting 17 goals and 24 assts during his 20 games played. "Eberhardt is a pure play maker, he's shifty with excellent hands. I was very impressed with his composer and how he just seemed to flow with our returners at the prospect skate. Matt has a bright future here and I can't wait to see it unfold over his 4yrs".

Kendall Dale

Picture
Flyers Hockey would like to announce the commitment of 6' 180lbs defensemen Kendall Dale from College Station, TX. Kendall is coming into the flyers lineup after spending last season in the NA3HL with the Breezy Point Northstars, appearing in 31 games and only having 8pims all season. "Dale plays tons of minutes, he's extremely disciplined in not taking penalties, his work ethic is on another level and he'll be a shutdown Dman we lacked last season.  He's the type of player we plan on building around during the next few years".

Matt Soukup

Picture
Lewis University Hockey is proud to announce our newest commitment, 5'7" 160lbs sniper Matt Soukup from Orland Hills,IL. Matt comes to Lewis after a yr layoff from jr hockey to attend school. Previously skating for our na3hl affiliate Chicago Bulldogs.  During his 2 seasons he played in 91games and recorded 58goals, 77assts, for 135points. "Soups was a GLJHL all star, won 2 Lakes Cup, and made 2 consecutive national appearances with Chicago. Have you seen this guys stats? Enough said!"

Brenden Gust

Picture
The Flyers are proud to announce the commitment of 5'4" 140lbs winger Brenden Gust from Emerado,ND. Gust comes to Lewis University after playing in 37 games between the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL and El Paso Rhinos of the WSHL amassing 12 goals and 14 assts. When asked if size was a problem? Coach Picco responded without hesitation, "Don't let this kids size fool you, he's a complete player with big game experience and I'm thrilled to have Brenden in our lineup this fall. He'll bring scoring depth to our roster and should see plenty of power play unit time as well."  Gust also previously played in 54 games with 11 points for the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL during 2010-2011 and 42 games for 40 points with El Paso Rhinos WSHL during 2011-2012 seasons.

Luke Dotto

Picture
Lewis University Hockey is proud to announce the commitment of 5'10" 170lbs center Luke Dotto from Oak Forest,IL. Dotto comes to Lewis after playing in 24 games collecting 22 points for the Mountain Division Champion El Paso Rhinos of the WSHL. Prior to this season Luke played tier 2 for the Orangeville Americans in the GMHL (Canada) where he had 14g & 20a in 41gms. Dotto brings top 2 center skill and the toughness we lacked last season. He'll most likely start the season with returning jr Brendan Bednarz and will be reunited with his El Paso linemate Brenden Gust.

Joe Santelli

Picture
Lewis University Hockey is proud announce the commitment of Joe Santelli. Joe is a 5'10" 170lbs defensemen from Park Ridge, IL. He is coming to Lewis after appearing in 32 games with the Breezy Point Northstars of the NA3HL.  Flyers are very excited to have Santelli in our lineup.  He's an extremely hard worker, is good in the d zone, can hit a guy through a wall, and has great character. Joe will be a great fit in our system and help solidify our defense.  He's a huge part of our plans over the next 4 yrs.

Ethan Sweeney

Picture
The Commitments continue to roll in as the Flyers add another key piece to there 13'-14' roster. Ethan Sweeney is a 6' 2 1/2" 215lbs defensemen from Nekoosa, Wi. Ethan is attending Lewis after spending this past season in the mnjhl.  He appeared in 15 games collecting 5 points for the great lakes division regular season & playoff champion Wisconsin Rampage. "Ethan's a beast in front of the net and on the penalty kill. He has impressed us at the few skates he's attended and gives us depth at defense to contend for titles. I look forward to big things from him these next few yrs." said Coach Picco. Sweeney's hard work and excellent attitude has awarded him with a Lewis University academic scholarship and the development award winner in mnjhl. Welcome Ethan Sweeney!

  Pat Conoboy

Picture
Pat Conoboy is a speedy, gritty, intelligent forward from Maine HS/Skokie Flyers Midget Major teams where he averaged over 1.5 points a game.  At high school alone he had 19 goals, 12 asst's, for 31 points. "We scouted Pat from a preseason tourney, through his playoff runs. His hockey sense is off the chart, he can dish the puck or light the lamp, has exceptional speed that he'll use to be the 2-way forward we need here" said Coach Picco. "Our entire staff is excited Conoboy picked school over juniors. Pat would've been a phenomenal player in juniors, he's got the perfect mix of nastiness and composure to go along with all his tools. I'm excited to get him into training camp and up to speed on our systems, as he'll probably see some pk unit time" said Coach DJ.

Vince Hernandez

Picture
D's a crowd as the Flyers are proud to announce the commitment of Vince Hernandez.

Vince Hernandez is a 6' 210lbs defensemen from Glenwood,IL. Vince commits to Lewis after appearing in 42games and collecting 10 points for the Illiana Blackbirds of the mnjhl. Vince was the capt of his team, finishing 2nd overall and eventually losing in the divisional playoff finals to Wisc Rampage.  "Vince brings past NCAA D3 experience and veteran leadership to our lineup. He knows what it takes to play at an extremely high level from his time at St Mary's. He has a cannon for a shot, plays in your face, and will fill the hole left by graduating senior Enrique Ayala. We where very nervous about finding Ayala's replacement. Enrique was a huge part of defensive system and power play. Hernandez will fill that spot perfectly.
